A little bit about me

I am a 47 year old mother of 3 wonderful children, ages 23,22, and 15. I live in the Pelham area and I am looking to provide child care for a good family! I was a live in nanny many years ago before I had my own children and now I run my own event planning buisness and do day trading. Both of these businesses allow me to work the hours I chose and don't require me to be hands on, on a daily basis. Because of the type of work I do ,I have the time and attention needed to provide excellent childcare. I was a stay at home mom for most of my children's school age years and was involved with numerous school groups and sports teams. I worked as a room mom for each of my children while in elementary school ,and was room mom for more than one class at a time. I was also team mom for multiple teams for the various sports my children were involved in. I love children and can be extra beneficial to a family with their children's daily needs as well as any extra curricular activities.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am a mother of 3 wonderful children(ages 23,22,and 15). I was a live in nanny several years before I had my own children and have also worked for several different families giving childcare part time. I was a stay at home mother for most if my children's school age years,and was a room mom for each of them ,sometimes for 2 at a time! I have also been team mom for multiple sports teams each of my children were involved in ,Including football, baseball, soccer, golf, track and cheerleading.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I was an art studio major at UAB and enjoy teaching children many different things in the arts. Drawing, painting, clay work, sewing or any craft is always a blast.All 3 of my children were involved in multiple sports including football, baseball, basketball, soccer, golf ,track and cheerleading, so I always love doing any of these activities as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being able to become a part of an extended family is always a gift, but the opportunity to make a difference in a child's life and helping create wonderful childhood memories is priceless.

My experience with special needs children...

I have two children of my own that are grown and teach special needs children in public school. I have regularly volunteered in each of their classes for the past 4 1/2 years,as well as chaperone on out of school field trips and during special events in school.

The most important part about being a nanny...

While working as a live in nanny ,I cared for two young boys ,one of which had an extreme fear of learning to swim on his own. Being that the family had a pool at there home ,I felt that it was important to teach him water safety and to swim ! After working for a few weeks getting him used to learning to float in the pool I was able to teach him to swim the distance of the entire pool . The day his parents arrived home and he showed them how well he had learned to swim ,they both cried with happiness and appreciation. Something I will never forget!
