This past summer I babysat a 1-year-old boy a few days a week. I prepared his meals, took him outside to play, did light cleaning, and made sure he was safe at all times, including watching out for the summer heat. We had a great time together and I really enjoyed the responsibility and building a connection with him and his family.

I like to keep kids active and engaged with a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities. Indoors, could mean coloring, building, or simple games. Outdoor, I'd plan things like nature walks/strolls, playing in the park, and blowing bubbles. I'd adapt to the child's age and interest, while checking with the parents about any rules or preferences.

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is keeping the child safe and happy, making sure they have fun while giving parents peace of mind that their child is well cared for.
My experience with special needs children...
I don't have direct experience caring for children with special needs, but I've worked with them in a customer service setting. When I worked at a movie theater, I served families during our special showing for guests with special needs and young children. I learned to stay patient and flexible in those situations, and I'm comfortable adapting to each child's needs and routine and follow the parent's guidance.
