The most important part about being a nanny...
Nanny kid (we will pretend their name is E for privacy) was struggling with their first steps - Mom and I had been working on those steps for months and E was just having a ride on the struggle bus. Well one afternoon in the kitchen, E got about 10 feet from mom, who was facing the fridge, and pulled themselves up on the bar stool next to them. E had shown zero interest in standing that day, much less walking but I felt the need to pull out my camera anyway. And oh thank goodness for that nanny intuition because E started walking right up to mom, their first steps and Mom heard them right away. She turned around and dropped to her knees all teary eyed. E walked straight into her arms and I was able to help her save and share that precious memory forever. One of my favorite things is catching moments that often never get recorded. Their childhood goes so fast, and is often too chaotic to remember to try to catch candid photos or videos Mom and dad definitely don't need that stress!
