"Lexi was a great nanny to my boys. She took time to play with them, would take them to do "boy" things such as fishing, baseball or skate boarding. She would pull out the nerf guns and start the "war" which you know boys love. I know that Lexi truly loved my boys and always made sure they felt safe and taken care of. She made their favorite snacks and did the things they wanted to do versus being more concerned about what she preferred to do or being preoccupied with her phone and friends. Lexi was able to build a lifelong relationship with my boys and I know they will always feel that they are able to go to her if needed for anything at all."

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been babysitting since 2013, I have loved every minute of it. I’ve also always been involved in Vaction Bible school (VBS) were the kids get a week of fun to learn about Jesus. It’s amazing hands down the best “vacay” every year, just being with kids and watching them grow is amazing you feel so connected and apart of their journey to become who they were meant to be. I have also been life guarding for 3 years which involve a CPR certificate so I am trained on CPR & First Aid. I enjoy being with kids because of the love I had for being a kid. I wish I could go back everyday and just be oblivious to everything around me and just live.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
One of my favorite activities is competitive games. I enjoy these types of activities because it teaches you many lessons about life. Like for example say the child doesn’t win, most times their reaction is them being upset, disappointed in themselves, jealousy, and not happy for the other person (bad sportsmanship). All of those things are very difficult to deal with especially when you aren’t taught how to handle or control those feelings. So what I do when we play those games and I have a child who is upset I pull them aside and ask them why they were upset what about the situation made them feel upset and how they would’ve like to react instead. This showing them 1. That’s I care about what’s wrong 2. That I am accepting how they feel and that their feelings are important and 3. Accepting that you made a mistake and wanted the outcome to be different next time. It’s like a lesson in disguise some would say.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I feel the most important part about being a nanny is the bond and connection you build with the child or children. As a child a lot of confusing and questions will become an issue as to why I am watching them and not their parents who they crave and love. So building a healthy appropriate relationship with boundaries to where they understand the role you are taking on and it is nothing more than a friend coming over to play and help out!
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment would have to be the time a little girl name skylar wanted to do tumbling so bad, but the funds in her family weren’t available for her to do so. Little did she know that’s what I grew up doing and she had a FREE teacher first hand that could teach her it all. Well two weeks passed and this little girl had managed to nail her back walk over, cartwheel, round off... I mean you name it and it was done! It was the sweetest thing to be apart of.

I was a stay at home mom for 15 years. I not only took care of the house & family I also volunteered on many different boards like, PTA, Baberuth baseball & a youth football league.
When my youngest (twins) were 16 I started to nanny in my neighborhood. I then moved to Chicago and was a Nanny for 2 different professional couples that, 1 moved out of state & 1 moved out to the suburbs.
That's when I found the family that I would be with until I retired. I started when the 1st was 2 months old & retired when she was 8 1/2, her brother was 6 1/2 & baby was almost 2. It was hard to leave them but I wanted to move closer to Austin TX where my 3 kids live.
I'm very organized & love doing crafts, art, and music with the little ones. I also have picked up from school, taken kids to swimming & other activities as well.
