Hi! My name is Lilah, I’m 19 years old and currently studying Elementary Education and Special Education at Frostburg State University. I have several years of professional childcare experience working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and pre-K children. I currently work in a childcare center and have experience with feeding, diapering, naps, playtime, age-appropriate activities, behavior guidance, and maintaining a safe environment. I am CDA certified, have completed my 90-hour Child Development and Early Childhood Education certification, and I am CPR/First Aid certified. I have also completed internships in elementary schools where I assisted teachers, created lesson plans, and worked directly with students. I am mainly looking for a summer nanny position and am also available during winter break, weekends, date nights, and occasional backup care. I began as a childcare aide, helping throughout the center with cleaning, classroom support, and staff breaks, and later became an assistant teacher. I have worked in toddler, twos, preschool, pre-K, and infant classrooms. My responsibilities have included feeding, diapering, naps, supervising play, planning age-appropriate activities, helping with meals and transitions, behavior guidance, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. I have also completed internships in elementary schools where I assisted teachers, worked directly with students, created lesson plans, and taught activities. I am CDA certified, CPR/First Aid certified, and continue to complete additional childcare and safety trainings.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing activities that keep children engaged, active, and learning while still having fun. Some of my favorite activities include reading books, arts and crafts, outdoor play, sensory activities, simple games, music and dancing, and age-appropriate learning activities. I also enjoy helping children use their imagination through pretend play and encouraging activities that support creativity, communication, and development.

The most important part about being a nanny is making sure children feel safe, supported, and cared for while building trust with both the child and their family. I think it is important to be dependable, patient, attentive, and respectful of each family’s routines and parenting preferences. A nanny should also create a positive environment where children can have fun, learn, and feel comfortable being themselves.

I am currently studying Elementary Education and Special Education at Frostburg State University, so I am continuing to build my knowledge of how to support children with different learning, behavioral, developmental, and communication needs. Through my childcare work and school-based internships, I have worked with children who have a wide range of personalities, abilities, and support needs. I am patient, calm, adaptable, and comfortable following routines, directions, and individualized strategies provided by families or teachers. I am always willing to learn more about a child’s specific needs so I can provide safe, respectful, and supportive care.
