I have experience in 3 years of child development classes at Kearney High School. We provided activities for our preschool -kindergarten students, introduced them to new things like foods, gardening in the greenhouse, outdoor activities, etc. ( I was a student doing volunteering not a teacher)

Depending on what is comfortable for the parents swimming is always fun with safety precautions & floaties, coloring, movie nights, building forts, anything the kiddos have fun but are safe!

Being present & reliable. Not only are families putting all their trust in me it’s important to prove your trust. I think that’s the biggest but also just being the best for the little ones! Be fun and productive with them.
My experience with special needs children...
Every child is different of course but with my experience special needs children tend to need more support & attention which I think it’s important to engage with what they are comfortable with. Let them learn with touch or sense of smell.

Building the bonds with the children. The little ones look up to us older folks. It’s important your there for there needs and wants, just sitting down and listening to them they notice your presence. Make them feel safe!
