My experience with special needs children...
I have a little sister and she is 13 years younger than me. She was diagnosed with Pitt-Hopkins disease at the age of 6 after years of thinking it was hypotonia. She can’t walk, talk, or really do anything without help. I would feed her, give her baths, get her dressed, do her hair, and anything else she would need. Even with the disabilities she has, there was never not once a frown on her face, it is always smiles!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I used to work at a small daycare and I was the infant teacher. I only had four babies all under the age of one. There was this little girl who was my oldest in the class and every morning I would take her out of the car seat and be immediately greeted with the sweetest little hug. It was my favorite moment every morning.
