More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
During the summer time of 2021 I was a kids cheer coach, and this gave me the experience to work with all age groups, and to interact and plan activities to help them engage and learn on a more fun level! It can be hard trying to get children to engage in activities due to being afraid, or not wanting to learn. But I plan very thought out activities to make them want to learn! I have also cared for children with special needs. I used to babysit for family friends and they had 1 adopted child and a special needs child, and I learned how to engage and to help them what they needed the most! It takes time and patience! :) but I’m up for the challenge!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love spending time doing interactive and engaging activities, I love showing the kids nature outside! Such as letting them express themselves, for example chalk activities for the driveway is a favorite! Or finding animals and insects outside and practicing what sound they make , and what kind of animal they are! It’s a fun way to let the kids be in control and to help them identify as well! Especially when it comes to schoolwork, I choose to have a more fun route such as coloring to practice their numbers and fun engaging flash cards, to help remember and have fun learning at the same time!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part, is making them smile. It’s an amazing feeling, I love when I can make someone day whether is making them their favorite snack, or playing their favorite board game! It just takes one small thing when you let the child decide what they want to do so that you can learn more about them and it gives me insight of their likes and dislikes , and what to bring to the table next time! Or what activities I should plan on making that fits what they love! It’s important to learn about the child , so that they can feel appreciated and included and it makes them want to learn even more every time! It’s also important to be patient with children, it’s one of my main factors. Many children learn on different levels and it can be frustrating learning new things, and that’s why I like to take time and really engage and spend time with them one on one.
My experience with special needs children...
I have helped with autism special needs children, my family friends have a special needs daughter, and I helped babysit their family for about 5 years, and I took time to be patient and to grow with her and to make her feel included , and to really engage and try different speaking activities and activities they can engage in on their own!
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was with my parents friends children, I started of babysitting for , they always wanted me to come back! And they would always draw me drawing every time I came back to care for them! And it’s very important and special to me , because every action and everything you do affects every child! So making them feel included and doing things to help them learn on their level really helps them engage with you and want to spend more time with you as an individual and it’s a great feeling, to be a role model for them!
