A little bit about me

I LOVE kids, horses, singing, and arts. I'm allergic to most pets. I am homeschooled, so my schedule is weird, but unlike most highschoolers I can be available midday. I am good with hair braiding. I have really bad asthma. I have many talents I use to entertain children. While there's plenty I don't know and am not good at skill-wise, I am eager to learn and practice. It can be awkward meeting depending on the kid, but I am good at making one-on-one connections over time if they let me. I'll say it again- horses are amazing, I know a ton about them and have experience working with them.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have had several babysitting jobs in the past, all scattered out. I can provide references for some of these jobs. I also drove up to St. George with my sister once to care for my two little cousins at the time for a few days.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I have really bad asthma, so especially on bad air quality days, I have a really hard time with outdoor recreational activities. However, I have participated in some outside play for a limited amount of time in the past. I love drawing and coloring, and can draw custom things for kids to color. I am good at painting nails and braiding hair. I also love singing, so if kids want to sing or want me to sing for them, that's fun, too. I can make up silly stories and games or read stories. I have fun dramatically fake dying if they pretend to swordfight me or pretend to beat me up. Of course, some kids are very assertive and know exactly what they want to do or show me, so I just go along with whatever.

My experience with special needs children...

I have very little experience with special needs. I have an older cousin who has mental development issues and seizures, she can't care for herself, and I have spent time with her but never cared for her directly. I have played with a little boy with a development disability as well, and he and I laughed a lot, but again, never cared for him directly.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite memory was with the boy of a family friend when he was much younger. We went into the backyard, and he called dandelions 'wishes'. So, when he saw all the dandelions, he said, "WHAAT!!? LOOK! LOOK AT ALL THE WISHES!!"
He then grabbed one and handed it to me and said, "Do YOU want a wish?" It was so sweet and cute.

When he picked one he closed his eyes and made his wish out loud before blowing it. He kept changing the wish to make it more realistic- "I wish... I wish for- for a brand new- for a CAR- wait, I want a red ca- I want a red... a red TOY car..." Or something like that, haha.
