A little bit about me

I am 25 years old and am relocating to the Iowa City area from Ankeny. I was a nanny for two years for one boy. Prior to that I worked as an infant teacher at Childserve in Ames. I also worked at a youth shelter working with ages 12-17. I come from a large family with 8 siblings and I am a twin. I lived in the Des Moines area for 8+ years. I am now moving back towards family to get to watch my siblings and nephew grow up.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I started as a teaching assistant working with ages 0-5, switching between classrooms and helping where I was needed.
I worked with youth aging 12-17. I made meals, transported children to activities outside of the shelter, and provided counsel as needed while keeping them in a safe space.
I returned to the daycare and worked as an infant teacher. I managed sleep schedules, meal times (bottles and meal transitioning), creating age appropriate activities to stimulate brain growth and socialization.
I nannied with a family for 2 years. I managed meals, nap times, social interaction, transportation to and from activities and appointments, and assisted parents in other tasks.

I enjoy coming up with crafts and activities based on what we are learning at the times. I enjoy exploring nature with the children and creating new memories and experiences.

My favorite nanny moment is when I took my nanny kid, his older sister, and her friend to the polar express train. We drove through crazy snow and got have cookies and milk.
