A little bit about me

My name is Linnea Kervin. I am 18 years old and just recently graduated from Brookings High School this past may. There was no option for both, but i am open to part time or full time! I have been babysitting neighbors and family friends for about 5/6 years now and absolutely love children. I would say i am fairly outgoing and energetic. I love being outside, making crafts, and adventures! I am very comfortable with meal prep and cooking as i have experience both in job settings and at home. I am looking for a job that i know i will love going to and one that makes me excited, and childcare is definitely that for me. I would love to get to know your children and family more!:)

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have babysat for friends, neighbors, and family for many years. I did a 6th month internship in the special education room at my school for an outreach program. It gave me insight on school accommodations for those kids with needs and allowed me to grow my experience with children with special needs overall. I also did a 6th month internship at advance my senior year. Granted they are not children, but i feel that experience there gave me even more patience, understanding, empathy, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being outdoors-picnics, park visits, basketball games, you name it! I also enjoy doing crafts and cooking with the kids. Making easy recipes such as macaroni and cheese or chicken sandwiches, and in the end knowing they helped will make it taste way better:)

The most important part about being a nanny...

Empathy; i always try my best to put myself in their shoes, and get on there level. Showing i care about their internal needs as much i do their external.

Definitely getting a full makeover with dress up clothes and starter makup from the girls(7 and 5) ,getting escorted to the backyard, and receiving a five course meal including anything found in the backyard and play dough! 😆
