My favorite moments are teachable moments. I was taking care of a 3 year old baby girl who was curious about a cactus plant in the window. She wanted to touch to Justus. I told her that it would hurt her repeatedly. She was not satisfied with my response. Everyday she would ask to touch it and everyday I would tell her the same. Until one day, I thought to myself if she ask today, then I would allow her to gently touch it with her guided finger. She did touch the cactus saying "ouch, that hurt" then she smiled. She later began to tell the other child not to touch because it hurt. Experience is a good teacher for myself as well as for my 3 year old baby girl.
