"I’m happy to recommend Lisa Rudy, who cared for our three children (now ages 8, 5, and 2) from Fall 2023 through February 2026. Lisa was a dependable and dedicated presence in our home and handled everything from infant and toddler care to helping our oldest with elementary school homework. She managed school pickups, drove the kids to activities, prepared meals, and kept daily routines running smoothly. Lisa brings the experience and instincts of a mother to two grown sons and is attentive and steady during challenging moments with children. One example of her commitment is that she even took swim lessons so she could confidently supervise our kids in the pool. We trusted Lisa fully with our children and would recommend her to any family looking for an engaged and responsible caregiver."

"I recommend Lisa without hesitation. I truly believe she can adapt and give each child what they need - I have a 12 yo boy, 10 yo girl and 7yo boy. The two older ones obviously don’t think they need a sitter while my youngest will soak up (i.e., take over) any/all attention available! Lisa won them all over - every time I walked in from work, media was off and they were in the kitchen cooking, outside playing or building elaborate structures out of playing cards 🤷♀️! She is playful though will also enforce any rules or guidelines you ask her to. She is very good with children and honestly enjoys being with them and being a part of their day-to-day."

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Personal: In addition to raising my own wonderful kids (now successful, well adjusted young adults) I volunteered regularly in elementary thru high school for a cumulative 12 years. I ran a reading enrichment program for grades 1-6 for a number of those years. I am the favorite aunt to over a dozen nieces and nephews.
I have held live-out, long term nanny positions (20+ years experience) both prior to having my own, and once they were grown and more independent.
I have had numerous long term child care positions and can provide current references upon request.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
A joyful child is a blessing. If I can get a kid silly - laughing, dancing, singing - we are all better off! With older kids that would translate as being fluent in pop culture and treating them as the well adjusted young adults we are hoping they will become! I am a professional baker, so I love to do age appropriate cooking with the littles. I think a well-read child has a head start academically, so I will read to-with-beside a child for as long as I can keep them engaged. Child rearing, wether mine or yours, is a long-game, and I play to win :)
The most important part about being a nanny...
Raising successful humans is a serious job. Anyone who is an influence on our kids must be an asset. From a bus aide, to a teacher, to a babysitter. We are caretaking and shaping young lives. Always be a role model. Always lead with love. Childrearing is a long game.... like chess. It should be strategically played, but to a backdrop of love, laughter and unconditional support!
My experience with special needs children...
I have personal experience with children with ADHD, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, social issues, anxiety etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
In general, the best "nanny" moments are when EVERYONE is happy: If the kids are doing what they should (homework, manners etc) and STILL happy and enjoying my company, THAT is a win for us all!
At the end of the day, if I have been an asset to your family, and contributed to your child's overall well-being and evolution, I have done my "job".
On a personal note: the warm, genuine connections I have made with some of the families I have worked with is the greatest perk of all! It is a privilege that I treasure and do not take lightly.
