Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have a lot of experience with infants since being a mom myself, but prior have babysat for several cousins and family memebers since I was in middle school. I nannied for a 3 year old boy during the summer a few years ago and helped him with his delayed speech production, meal prepping, lots of scheduling activities, cleaning the house and transportation needs, also helped with his other siblings care when it was needed. I also have volunteered and worked at an elementary school for over 5 years off and on (mainly in a kindergarten classroom) so I was able to learn a lot of different techniques when working with young children and how to get them to interact and be productive while learning as well.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Being outside and in nature is something I think is extremely important for a child’s development, so when the weather is nice I love being able to do activities that can also teach kids about what their doing like going on nature walks, hiking, visiting lakes, going to the park, having picnics and visiting the different places around Madison and surrounding areas. In my own household I don’t like having a lot of technology involved in my sons day to day life, so I like creating schedules and plans for activities to ensure they can stay entertained and have a fun day, while also learning and getting to be apart of their environments. Since I’m in school for teaching as well, I like to try to bring the educational experience to the activities I plan out so that even if the child is little, they can take something away from what we do for the day.
