A little bit about me

Hi I’m Lorelei (the Styx song :) and I am going to be graduating with my bachelors degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Child and Family Development in May and then moving to California to work as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the school districts come fall. I am looking to be a full or part time nanny for the summer, and am still willing to work around the school schedule for afternoons/nights when/if the time comes. I have worked in countless child care settings since I was 14 years old, including; summer camps, daycares, preschools, elementary/middle schools, churches, special needs classrooms, and private nanny/babysitting experiences. I was a part time nanny for a 3 y/o 4 days a week. I drove to playgrounds/jungle gyms, took her to parks, brought activities and crafts to aid her development! I have such a passion for working with kids and can be completely flexible! I would love to be your nanny!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love going to interactive places to help the kids use all their senses (helps tire them out more ;) like parks, jungle gyms, aquariums, gardens, hiking/walking, nature centers, you name it! I also really love to stay in and do a puzzle, color, build, play board games, paint nails, race trucks, play house, and most importantly mermaids. Pretty much anything I can do in this job is fun because it makes them happy so i’m ready to take it on!

My experience with special needs children...

I have several family members with high functioning autism and ODC, as well as down syndrome. I am quite comfortable with any/all disabilities, I spend 15 hrs a week working in the Special Education Department each week completing my clinical field work hours. In this I work constantly with a range of special needs and ages ranging from high to very low functioning. I did shadowing of an SLP in the 18-21 school for Special Needs Adults in the Marietta Valley Unified School District.
