A little bit about me

Hi! As you see, my name is Lori. I live in Newark, DE with my husband, my middle school son and my two dogs. My oldest son (in his 20s) lives in Ohio. Although I miss him tons, he is living his best life (plus with FaceTime I still get to see him often).
I was a nanny while in high school and college and when my oldest was an infant. It afforded me the opportunity to be “home” with him longer. I helped a friend for several years from the time her Irish twins (10 months apart) were born until they started school on weekend while her and her husband worked.
Over the last 25 years, I have held several jobs in the medical field ranging from EMT and home health aid to research coordinator and behavior modification coach. Although, I enjoyed each career, my heart longs to work with children again. My favorite job title will always be “MOM”.

I have worked with families- one to three children from infant to middle school age. I’ve done wake up routine to bedtime routine and everything in between. I volunteered at both my children’s schools- elementary through high school.

Reading stories, arts and crafts, finger (or toe) painting, playing outside especially at the park and random dance parties!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Helping parents raise a happy, health, polite, intelligent children. I believe it takes a village and every person plays an interracial part in a child’s upbringing!

My experience with special needs children...

I worked with age 4 and up children with special needs- both physical and mental. I have taken several courses in psychology, sociology and child development while obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science. I cared for children with special needs as a Home Health Aid and as a Practice Specialist.
