A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Louise Maiga!

I’ve been taking care of kids for as long as I can remember, starting with younger siblings and family friends. Babysitting has always come naturally to me because I genuinely care about making kids feel safe, heard, and happy. I’ve also worked formally with children in different roles, like as a summer camp counselor where I supervised students from kindergarten to 8th grade and created fun, educational activities to keep them engaged.

I’ve taught in classrooms, led community service, and even organize school events, all of which show my leadership, patience, and strong communication skills. I’m organized, reliable, and comfortable taking initiative, whether that’s planning a day of activities or managing unexpected situations calmly. I’m also great with keeping a tidy space, I’m happy to help with light household tasks too.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I walked into my summer camp classroom and all the kids ran up to hug me. That moment was so special to me, I loved being an older figure for those loving children. They'll grow up to be someone great for sure!

A moment that was also special to me was when I experienced a kid being rude to one of the afterschool counselors and I had her apologize. I didn’t force her to apologize, instead I talked her through her emotions and discussed how wrong it is to treat adults that way. I intergraded the importance of respect and she understood. The kid even gave the counselor a hug, which the counselor later then expressed how shocking and sweet the moment was.
