More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am a certified lifeguard and swim instructor. I have extensive experience working with children in and around the water, teaching swim lessons, building confidence, and helping kids develop important life skills. I’m CPR and First Aid trained, attentive, and calm in high-energy situations.
Last summer, I spent nine weeks serving with Street Reach Ministries in Memphis, Tennessee. I worked closely with children and families in the community, helping lead activities, mentoring kids, and building meaningful relationships, which strengthened my leadership skills, adaptability, and heart for serving others. During my senior year, I have been nannying part-time for a wonderful family in LaGrange. This role has given me consistent, hands-on experience managing routines, helping with homework, preparing meals, and creating fun, engaging activities. It has strengthened my ability to balance structure and warmth while building trust with both children and parents.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love planning fun, engaging activities that keep kids active, creative, and confident. I enjoy swimming and playing water games, setting up backyard obstacle courses, and organizing outdoor games like tag or kickball. I also love doing arts and crafts, baking simple treats together, building blanket forts, and putting on little skits or puppet shows. During quieter moments, I enjoy reading stories, helping with homework, playing board games, and trying simple STEM challenges. My goal is always to create a safe, joyful environment where kids can learn, grow, and have fun.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where children feel secure and valued. Beyond planning fun activities or keeping routines on track, it’s about building trust, modeling kindness, and being someone they can rely on each day. A great nanny supports not only the child’s physical safety, but also their emotional growth, confidence, and character. Being a steady, positive presence in a child’s life is both a responsibility and a privilege.
My experience with special needs children...
During my time serving in Memphis, I had the opportunity to work closely with children from many different backgrounds, including several with special needs. I supported children who were affected by drug and alcohol exposure, as well as those with physical and developmental disabilities such as paraplegia, Down syndrome, and autism. These experiences strengthened my patience, empathy, and ability to adapt activities to meet each child’s unique needs. I also teach swimming to a child who is paraplegic, which has deepened my understanding of inclusive instruction and the importance of building confidence in every child. Working with these incredible kids has shaped me into a more compassionate, attentive, and capable caregiver.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was when I took the three boys I watch to a spray ground near their house on a warm afternoon. What started as “we’ll just get a little wet” quickly turned into all of us getting completely soaked, laughing and running through the water together. Seeing how excited and carefree they were — and getting to join in on the fun — was such a sweet reminder of why I love nannying. It was one of those simple, joy-filled days that built trust, memories, and a lot of laughter.
