A little bit about me

Hi I’m Macey, a professional big sister to three little siblings and very experienced in all things involving children. My family has been a foster family for as long as I can remember and I have also worked as a Personal Care Assistant for children with disabilities. I have assisted in home-schooling my high-school aged brother for the last five years which has given me ton of experience which can be applied if needed, given the current situation. My heart is huge and I’m very understanding of what children need and knowing that all kids and circumstances are different. I can adapt to anything and I’d love to meet your family! I am currently a senior at NDSU majoring in Horticulture - Plant Science, but due to school being online I’m able to work full-time or part-time and I would love to nanny again.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a big sister to three younger siblings, we have been a foster family since I can remember along with a family-ran daycare. I was also a personal care assistant for children with disabilities and have done many volunteer projects working alongside children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being active and doing activities. I think it’s really good to understand children’s limits though, if they need some quiet time we will do that and if they have a burst of energy we will make sure to make the best of that. Since I’m a horticulture major, I always like to incorporate the outdoors and teach them about insects, flowers, and anything that grows outside! I also love cooking and I’ve always had so much fun letting my younger siblings help prepare meals and letting them feel like they are part of the process.

My experience with special needs children...

I was a personal care assistant for a child with cerebral palsy for four years, my duties included doctor/PT/OT appointments, being able to lift and carry everywhere, bathing/changing, helping to feed.
