More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve babysat throughout the years for all ages along with several special cases, such as, high risk infants and children with ADD and ADHD. I also helped with special Olympics and my schools Unified Track team and a special needs program within my school. I worked as a nanny during COVID-19 for a family of two elementary aged girls. While working as a nanny I helped the kids with school work and online classes along with house work, errands and animal care. I also have experience with foster children and the system. I have been trained in CPR and First Aid in past years. I have studied child development and child psychology at high school and college level. I have plenty of references mainly off island though. I do have one family I have babysat for regularly on island.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love helping children express themselves which I tend to do with art and crafts. I also love teaching kids about the beauty of nature so a lot of outdoor activities are nice! I am completely open to trying new things with the kids as well.
My experience with special needs children...
I am comfortable helping specials needs children. I volunteered in special Olympics throughout high school along with helped in a program through my school to interact special needs classes and electives. My part in the program was twice a week I would help teach a couple students from our special needs class about photography and walk them around campus letting them create their own art work to display. I was also on the Unified track team which is where there’s an equal number of special needs and “helpers” competing. Being apart of our special needs team was on of the most meaning full memories from high school!
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment has to be going with the family to their first time at a pumpkin patch. I had really become a part of this family through a hard time and being able to the the kids so excited to go was amazing!
