Hi! I’m Mackenzie. I love all things nature, going to the zoo, and spending a day at the beach. I like to spend the weekends exploring San Diego with my 80lb pup, husband, and friends. I start my day with an iced coffee and listening to a podcast. I am currently going to school to be special education teacher! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have 150 hours of volunteering at a children's science camp (K-3).

I have over 100 hours volunteering in Level III Special Education Classrooms (K-12).

I worked in a toddler classroom for 18 months.

I helped create lesson plans and carry them out in a 5-7 summer camp (during covid).

I nannied for 2 years I was with the kids from 18 months until they were 3.5. Through this Experience I was able to create a preschool schedule with storytime, morning meetings, movement/music/thematic play, outside time, sensory activities, art, and math and literacy.

I have taken college classes on classroom management and was given field experience. along with developmental psychology.

I’m always reading nonfiction books on communication with children.

This school I was a 1-1 middle school Instructional Aide.

My first Aide/CPR certification have expired. But, it’s something I’m currently working on getting up-to-date.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Crafts, tag/hide-and-seek, imaginative play, board games, educational games, going for walks, Going to the zoo, beach, parks and more! And of course making slime!

My experience with special needs children...

I babysat a child all summer that I fed through a G-Tube. I also administered 8 medications through it.

My senior year of high school I did advanced studies in Adaptive Physical Education and Social Skills. I created my own lesson plans and assisted in teaching the courses.

I work as a 1-1 middle school Instructional Aide throughout the school year. I’ve learned a lot about executive functioning skills, de-escalation, positive reinforcement, and goal work for I.E.Ps

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was driving the kids to the zoo. I ended up getting a little lost. I let out a big sigh. One of the kiddos said “Its okay to feel your feelings Kenzie, take a deep breath!” Then proceeded to walk my through deep breaths. Then, they went home and told mom “Oh no. Kenzie gets lost!”
