Hi I'm Mackenzie. I'm 22. I currently work full time as a paraprofessional with individuals who have severe autism and other intellectual disabilities. I love working with kids of all abilities and all ages. I'm available after 4pm on most weekdays and I'm available most weekends, currently looking for occasional babysitter positions. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've been a nanny, babysitter, and i currently work as a paraprofessional in Forsyth Countly Schools. For a few years I also volunteered leading the kindergarten group in my church for 2 hours every Sunday as well as some Sundays with the preschoolers in church as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Arts and crafts. Board games. Soccer/other outdoor activities. Chilling/watching TV. Cuddles! Reading. Imagination games. Dress up. Baking. Singing/listening to music/dance parties.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure a child is well taken care of when parents can't be there. And it never hurts to have one more person who loves them.

My experience with special needs children...

My current full time job is as a paraprofessional at a program for individuals with severe autism and other intellectual disabilities. I'm trained in up to level 5 Marcus Crisis Prevention Plan protocol and am comfortable enacting the procedures on my own and as support.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The little boy I nannied was sick and in what we called "survival mode" he was tired and underweight. When he got better his personality started to blossom, he was no longer just surviving, he was thriving. He had so much energy and was smiling and giggling all the time. It was wonderful to see who he really was outside of his illness.
