More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I grew up as the neighborhood babysitter. From there I volunteered at my church's nursery where I worked with the infant. Teaching at Lindamoodbell Learning Process, I engaged with autistic, dyslexic, and ADHD students from age 3 to 22. I enjoyed my time at a daycare where the ages I would encounter ranged from 6 weeks to 6 years old.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to exercise and be outside and I know kids do too! I have taught kids yoga as wellas a multitude of outdoor games with not much more than a ball and space to run around. When we need to be inside I have kids engage in tactile arts. Sometimes drawing gets boring so I will lead them to build with clay, make friendship bracelets, or practice scissor skills by cutting out shapes from colorful paper!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of even just being an adult in a child's life is encouraging self confidence and internalized motivation. I make sure to exemplify my values and teach those around me to love yourself and those around you. Caring about other peoples' lives is so important no matter how far away they are or how different. I make sure to teach about other cultures and peoples so kids have a base from which to understand other people and not be quick to judge.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience working with students who have Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Cerebral palsy, as well as extreme behavioral issues.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I love snuggling and holding itty bitty babies. Any time I get to do that is a favorite moment. My absolute favorite part of working with kids is getting to see their growth and seeing how they change as they get older and more mature. I love when kids feel they can trust me enough to confide in me.
