A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Madeleine, I’m 23 years old and recently graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, where I studied child development as well as writing and languages. I have 10+ years of childcare experience, from occasional babysitting to regular nannying to working in a daycare and an experimental learning preschool. I like working with kids of all ages and personalities, especially when I’m able to spend enough time with them to see real growth and change. My childcare style is a healthy mix of creativity, exercise and downtime. While I encourage art making and nature walks, I prefer a more hands off approach which allows kids to make their own choices whenever possible. I see myself more as a friend than an authority figure, so as long as everyone is napped, clean, fed and hydrated on a regular schedule, I’m happy to jump into the day without a strict plan.
