A little bit about me

Hi! I’m a soon-to-be graduate from Cornell University who loves working with kids and creating a fun, safe environment for them to thrive. I’ve been a lifeguard for over six years, so safety is always my top priority and I am CPR and First-Aid certified. I’ve also babysat for many families, caring for children of all ages. I have worked as a swim instructor for ages 4-16, so I have experience coming up with engaging and enriching activities for kids in the summertime. I’m responsible, patient, and energetic, and I enjoy coming up with creative activities, helping with homework, and keeping kids engaged. My father is a chef, so I've been watching and learning from him my whole life-- I love to make meals and snacks that appeal to a wide variety of ages and tastes! Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Along with babysitting for many families, I’ve spent over six years as a lifeguard, which has meant constantly watching over kids in busy, high-energy environments. I’ve helped nervous swimmers feel comfortable in the water, kept track of large groups, and learned how to stay calm and focused no matter what’s going on around me. It’s made me really attentive and confident when it comes to keeping kids safe.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love meeting kids where they’re at and getting involved in whatever they’re excited about—whether that’s doing crafts at the kitchen table, playing games outside, or building something random out of whatever we can find. I have played soccer, volleyball, and softball, and am comfortable getting active and turning any activity into a game. I am also very involved with music and am always happy to incorporate that into my time with children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, it’s about creating an environment where kids feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely happy. I think the best relationships come from trust—both with the kids and with their parents—and I try to bring a calm, positive energy that makes kids feel supported but also lets them have fun and be themselves.

My experience with special needs children...

While I haven’t had formal training, I’ve worked with a wide range of personalities and needs through both babysitting and lifeguarding. I try to be patient, flexible, and really tuned in to each child individually, and I’m always open to learning from parents about what works best for their child.
