More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Aside from my other babysitting and nanny experience, I have also worked at summer camps with around. 15 - 40 kids per week ages 3 - 13. We did all kinds of activities together like tennis, as well as pool time daily. We did tie dye, water balloon fights, hikes, and so much more.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to take walks on the beach and play in the water if they are confident swimmers. If the kids aren't able to swim, looking for sea glass and building sand castles are great as well. Surfing, boogie boarding, paddle boarding, and kayaking are fun for some of the older kiddos. I also love to take kids to the rock climbing gym. A lot of kids like to climb on furniture and other unsafe things so it's nice to let them do it in a safe environment where they are hooked into a harness. One of my favorite things i've done with kiddos is take them to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It makes my heart light up to see the smiles on their faces when they get to see all of the sea animals up close.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Listening to and understanding the needs of the kids as well as the parents of the family you are caring for. A lot of times you will have to adapt the way you do things that are part of your everyday life to that of the children. It is very important to take into account the specific way a parent does something so that it doesn't throw off the routine of the child.

My experience with special needs children...

I don't have much experience with nannying children with special needs, but I grew up taking care of a close family friends daughter that had severe autism as well as cerebral palsy and 22 Q deletion syndrome. She had a lot of challenges to overcome, but with a lot of patience, we worked very well together.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment as a nanny was watching the first children I nannied ride a bike without training wheels for the very first time. They are cousins born 36 hours apart, and it put the biggest smile on my face to watch them experience such a milestone in their lives together.
