A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Madelyn Guin. I’m looking for a summer nanny position. I’m 21 and a Junior at NC State University. My major is Business Intent. I’ve babysat a million times at this point for kids ranging 1.5 to 15 years old. I also have experience with special needs children, and I used to volunteer for basketball camp in high school. I also worked at Camp Eagle Rock and Camp Boomerang this past summer with both traditional and special needs children having anywhere between 5-20 kids in my group at a time.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at Camp Eagle Rock this past summer and Camp Boomerang where I would lead groups of anywhere between 5-20 kids at a time through camp activities including swimming, rock climbing, volleyball, and so much more games from 6:45am-6:30pm. I also have experience from Camp Boomerang with special needs children where I would lead them through slightly adjusted activities that fit their needs similar to what we did with traditional campers at Camp Eagle Rock. I have babysat for plenty of my neighbors on many occasions usually on weekends so parents can have a date night that would start sometimes at 3pm going to 12:30am. I also used to volunteer at a Co-Ed basketball summer camp my high school hosted where me and my varsity teammates taught kids the basics of basketball. I also taught special need kids as a teacher assistant both in 8th grade and senior year of high school where we helped assist with math, English, history, and science.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love playing basketball, any kind of arts and crafts or like paintings, and I love playing video games. Any type of fun outings like ice cream, mini golf, amusement parks, or jumpy parks are always awesome too

The most important part about being a nanny...

To make sure that the kid is having fun as well as being productive with what they need to get done.

My experience with special needs children...

I also have experience with special needs children from middle and high school and for 2 years I volunteered in the special education room where I would do basic organization tasks for the teachers, organize activities and play games with the kids, do one on one tutoring, and leading the entire classroom through a lesson. I worked at Camp Boomerang which was partnered with Camp Eagle rock which was an adjusted version of summer camp specifically for special needs children where I would lead between 5-10 kids through slightly adjusted activities that fit their needs similar to what we did with traditional campers at Camp Eagle Rock.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I babysat for one family in my neighberhood and I swear this little girl was such and old soul we just talked over pizza for 3 hours and then watched a baking show competition and she just said she was tired and put herself to sleep before it was even close to her bedtime.
