To be patient, know matter how stressful things get there still little and they’re still learning. Sometimes you have to put yourself in there shoes and see where they’re coming from.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for a child at the center for only a year who had special needs, he was the sweetest and kindest kid. My aunt who is 40-50 yrs old she also has special needs, if you have a certain schedule or know of things that are very important for me to know when caring for your child/ loved ones I am always open.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Honestly, it’s really just the small things. I taught this one kid how to ride his bike and he kept going till he got it down he was so happy at the end. Another time I taught his brother how to put his shoes on, he use to tell me he couldn’t do it by himself. I told him try once and if you can’t do it that’s okay I’ll help, now he doesn’t want me to help he gets excited when putting them on. One day we were outside and I asked him a question about left and right and that was such a wholesome moment to see how much he had grown and learning so fast!
