A little bit about me

I have nearly ten years of experience in childcare, including nannying and teaching, and have cared for children ranging from newborns to school-aged.

I incorporate elements of Montessori and Waldorf approaches, planning engaging activities that support motor skills, language development, and social-emotional growth. I value outdoor time, imaginative play, and hands-on learning experiences that encourage curiosity and confidence.

I have experience working with children with special needs and medical conditions, and I approach each child with patience, attentiveness, and an individualized mindset. I am comfortable following care plans, supporting developmental goals, and maintaining consistency alongside parents and other professionals.

I am seeking a long-term, full-time nanny role where I can grow with a family over time. I am flexible and open to both live-in and live-out positions based on what best supports the household. I am very flexible about hours and days.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have nearly 10 years of childcare experience across both home and classroom settings, working with children from infancy through early elementary. My background includes student teaching in a mixed-age preschool, working as a Montessori teacher (infants–4), a first-grade teacher, and a nanny for children including a child with special needs and a family with twins and an infant. I provide nurturing and developmentally appropriate care, balancing structure with play, and value strong communication with families. My approach is warm, attentive, and rooted in supporting each child’s independence, growth, and individual needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy planning hands-on activities like arts and crafts, sensory play, and simple science experiments that let children explore and be creative. I also love spending time outdoors and going on nature walks, playing at the park, riding bikes, or just letting kids run and be active. Reading together is something I really value too, whether it’s story time before a nap or letting kids pick their favorite books. I enjoy cooking and baking simple recipes with children, doing puzzles, building with blocks, and creating imaginative games.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is building a strong and trusting relationship with both the children and the parents. Children thrive when they feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for, so I focus on creating a warm and supportive environment where they can be themselves. I believe it’s important to be patient, consistent, and attentive to each child’s individual needs while helping them learn, grow, and feel confident.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with a variety of special needs, and it’s something that has really shaped the kind of caregiver I am. I’ve worked with children who are medically fragile as well as children with developmental and learning differences, which has taught me the importance of patience, flexibility, and meeting each child exactly where they are. I focus on creating a calm and supportive environment where children feel safe, understood, and encouraged. I’m comfortable following care plans, working closely with parents and therapists, and adapting activities to fit a child’s individual needs and strengths. My goal is always to help children build confidence, independence, and a sense of accomplishment while making sure they feel supported and cared for every step of the way.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When working in a Montessori preschool, I got to watch the children I had taught for almost 4 years from the time they were newborns "graduate" into the prek 4 program.
