More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I volunteered at my sisters school so I could be more hands on with the kids and learn how to connect and interact with the kids that are special needs. I absolutely loved it! I also went through a class at dcc where we would go to daycares and preschools and elementary schools to observe the kids and see what their day was like and how to make the schedule to fit all of the needs for all of the individual children. I bonded with a lot with the kids and i still see some of them to thus day and it amazes me by how far they've come.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Going to the park, going for walks, coloring, doing puzzles, playing with cars, dolls, playing imagination, hide and seek, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure that the kids are being put first. They are your number one priority and make sure you follow the notes and instructions of the parents. Make sure the kids feel safe and are protected at all times.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for children with autism, asperger's, some with just a little communication delay, braces on their legs, ADD, ADHD, kids who are violent, kids who are a little more rough than others.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Was when I was watching this little boy who had developmental delays and he had braces on his legs because they were deformed. He was always a little violent and didnt show that much affection. His parents had just gotten home so I was saying goodbye. As i was going to say bye to the little boy and HE HUGGED ME for the first time. I was tearing up and his mother just hugged me and had a smile on her face. That was the best moment ever.

Part-Time Nanny Available in Holmes, NY: Brenda G.
Hello. I am a NYS certified early childhood teacher with over 20 years experience and I am a mother. I am looking to share my love and fun with children because my children are college aged and I have an "empty nest". I love reading story books, doing arts and crafts, singing songs, taking kids to the library, to a play place, to a farm and more so that they can be out and about while they grow and learn. I have lots of love and fun to give.
I have many references. But I'm looking to work part time... up to 3 days a week.
