The most important part about being a nanny...

Having worked in daycare, preschool, and foster care, I’ve learned that the most important part of nannying is building a genuine connection with each child. When kids feel seen, heard, and trusted, they feel safe to explore, play, and learn. Those strong, nurturing relationships create a foundation for growth, curiosity, and joy, and they make every moment of childcare meaningful and rewarding.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment as a nanny was when school let out for the summer and we created a “summer bucket list.” We spent the day decorating a poster board with glitter, stickers, and puffy paint, then brainstormed all the fun activities, skills, and adventures we wanted to experience before the summer ended. Each day we checked off an activity was so fulfilling, and even now, years later, they still remember their summer bucket list fondly—even though they’re in middle and high school!
