Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I've had a lot of experience working with children. Starting when I was just about 14 and watching my younger cousins. I volunteered in a kindergarten classroom for two years in the morning before middle school. Then I went on to be an assistant coach for varsity and junior varsity softball at a high school in Phoenix. I taught the girls how to play the game and fine tune their skills. With that we put on a lot of softball camps for elementary to middle school age girls to teach them as well. I worked a retail job being a department manager for 2 and half years while coaching softball. I then decided to start nannying and babysitting again and that's when I joined Busy Bees and was able to find a family through there to nanny full time for and after that I just met tons of more families, that I then nannied part time and babysat for.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I really enjoy doing arts and crafts with kids. I also love to get outdoors with the kids. While nannying and babysitting I tried to get the kids outside almost everyday. A walk to the park, kicking a soccer ball, or even playing catch. Just something to get them active and some fresh air. I know that's difficult with the weather here sometimes, but anytime we would be able too, I'd take advantage of it!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny to me is creating a safe, fun, and creative learning environment for your child to grow up in. Making a positive impact in their lives is really important to me because these are the years that form who they are!
My experience with special needs children...
I don't have a ton of experience with special needs children, but I'm comfortable doing so and willing to learn!
The most important part about being a nanny...
It hard to choose just one but I think just getting to watch the kids grow and learn new skills. Watching them when they were infants to now walking and talking is my favorite part of the job. One core memory is getting to watch the first baby I nannied full time for take his first steps and say his first words is something I'll never forget.
