Hi families! My name is Maëlyss, and I’m currently a student at Towson University majoring in Public Health! I have a genuine passion for working with children and creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where they can learn, grow, and feel comfortable being themselves.

I would describe myself as patient, caring, responsible, energetic, and dependable. I love engaging children in creative activities, arts and crafts, educational games, and outdoor adventures. My relevant childcare experience includes working at Caliday at Sparks Elementary School for one year, as well as several years of babysitting experience throughout my teenage years, from ages 13 to 18. I have cared for children ranging from newborns to middle school-aged students, which has allowed me to gain experience working with different age groups and understanding their individual needs. Through these experiences, I have developed strong skills in patience, communication, creativity, and responsibility. I enjoy creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where children feel comfortable, supported, and cared for.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is making sure every child feels safe, loved, understood, and comfortable being themselves. Having cared for children of different ages over the years, I’ve learned that every child has their own little personality, needs, and way of expressing themselves, and I think that’s what makes working with kids so special. I love being someone they can laugh with, learn from, and feel comfortable coming to when they need a little extra support or reassurance. I also understand how much trust it takes for parents to leave their children in someone else’s care, and that’s something I never take lightly. More than anything, I want to be a positive presence in a child’s life, whether that means helping them learn something new, making them smile after a tough day, or simply making sure they feel heard and cared for. I want the children I care for to look forward to spending time with me just as much as I look forward to spending time with them!
