Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve been an after school care teacher for about a year total and I really enjoyed it! Working in that environment helped me gain multitasking skills and strengthened my knowledge on how to work in high pressure environments either several children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to dance, sing and do all play activities. I’m pretty active so anything sportsy is okay, although I’m not the best at them haha.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important about being a nanny is respect. I always say that respect goes both ways. I think it’s extremely important to respect the child and the parent’s boundaries to be a good caretaker. When respect is given it is earned.

My experience with special needs children...

I babysat a child with autism who was non-verbal and that gave me some on-site training on how to handle a child with unique needs. I also had more hands on experience when I was working at my after school care jobs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I first started babysitting as a child, I was taking care of an 8 th
month old named Kendrick. He was
an incredibly sweet boy and very playful. At the time I was not responsible for nap time, but this time I
was left alone and it was up to me. I remember being incredibly nervous because he was fussy and
wanted to play on his tablet. I also remembered thinking I was not capable. However, I waiting patiently
and held him my arms and tried to whisper soothing words to calm his body down. Eventually, he fell
asleep. I felt extremely accomplished because although I was nervous, I kept composure and remained steady to complete the task.
