My experience with special needs children...
I have hands-on experience supporting children with special needs through my work as a 1:1 paraprofessional in the Malden Public Schools. In this role, I provided individualized support based on the student’s needs, helped with daily routines and transitions, encouraged positive behavior, supported communication and learning, and helped create a safe and comfortable environment.
My experience has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, empathy, and flexibility. I understand that every child develops and communicates differently, and I take the time to build trust and understand what works best for each child.
