I was a volunteer at an afterschool program for kids in 1-5 grade to help them with their homework and tutor them, this was during my highschool years. When I was in middle school, I was babysitting my parent's friend's son, who was 4 years younger than me.

Most important part of being a nanny, in my opinion is just enjoying the time with the kid and getting to know them more and helping out make the right decisions, and even to getting to know the family will help both the nanny and the family.

I have experience with a special needs friend back in elementary school, who had autism but I still hang around with him afterschool, inviting him over to play Minecraft and all.
