A little bit about me

I grew up on the island of Maui with a safety-bubble that allowed me to live a care-free childhood filled with bare feet and mud pies. The exploration-filled life fostered a curiosity in me that I have carried into adulthood. One of the biggest ways I satisfy this curiosity is through travel. When I was young, my family participated in home exchanges enabling me to experience new lifestyles and social norms beyond the island.
The other way I satisfy my curiosity is through academic endeavors. I earned a B.A. in Psychology, and a minor in Education Studies from Grinnell College where I became invested in the cognitive mechanisms of learning, and the influences of environment on learning. Heavy academics required a place of respite, which I found on the track with my teammates. Even after college, I continue to find refuge in running, and in the ocean with my surfboard.
