Hi, I am Makaelee and I LOVE to have fun and keep my mind and body active. I enjoy reading, going to the park, swimming, hiking, listening and dancing to music, and learning new things. I think it is so important to be patient when watching kids and I want to show children the kind discipline I needed when younger. I have lots of experience watching babies, toddlers, and adolescents of my friends and family, although I only recently considered nannying as a job. My preferred age range is 10 months-12 years old, but I am flexible and would enjoy nannying for any kid as long as we could create art and memories together. I enjoy cooking, cleaning, and education so I am more than welcome and excited to help your family with meal prep, homework, and household duties. I look forward to hearing from you!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have done lots of volunteering and mentoring through after school programs within the South Haven Public Schools. I specifically have provided teaching aid and assistance to fourth and fifth graders with learning disabilities. Reading, writing, science, and math are my favorite subjects to mentor children in! I have been watching and caring for my friends babies, toddlers, children, and pre-teens for approximately five years now. Only in the past year did I start making income for childcare.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy being outdoors regardless of the season. Hiking, climbing trees, going to the park, swimming, ice skating, and sledding are some of my favorite outdoor activities. When inside I love to bake and cook, draw or color, work on reading and writing skills, as well as dance and move around. Whether we are working with Legos, multiplication cards, or paint brushes, I think it is important to keep our brains active as well as our bodies.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me the most important part of being a nanny is providing a warm, safe, and exciting environment for kids to learn and grow in. It's more than just watching kids to assure their safety when the parents aren't home, it's about helping them grow into wonderful people.

My experience with special needs children...

First of all, I am someone who was a special needs child and has grown into a successful and independent adult thanks to the help of caregivers. I am proficient in using patient, yet firm, discipline to keep children with special needs (particularly ADHD and autism) on track and stimulated. While working as an after school mentor in at North Shore Elementary, I provided extra math and science assistance to fourth graders with special needs.
