I remember I was babysitting for two siblings I was already acquainted with; they were 4(girl) and 7(boy). We were all in the living/play room and her brother had gotten tired of watching TV, so after cleaning up his toys- he had left to go to the kitchen and wait on a snack I was going to prepare for him.
The little girl took my hand and wanted to introduce me to her toys but I was too worried about leaving her brother alone in the kitchen for too long so I attempted to redirect her to come with me for a snack. She said "Okay! I like being here with you" or to something of that effect and my heart melted!
That's when I knew that caring for little ones was my calling.
