Very minor in terms of childcare, but I was a girl scout for years that led into my teen years. I eventually became a cadet in charge of the younger girls, especially the youngest group.

Any sort of crafting that are appropriate for the age group! Painting, sculpting, some minor sewing, etc.
Engaging with them in their interests and hobbies, whatever they may be, is also important to me.

To adapt to the children, not force them to adapt to me. All children are different, and will require different approaches. I think it’s important to be flexible with kids, because they’re just tiny humans, and need that level of understanding and patience.

I’ve cared for a 12 year old high needs autistic child. I was tasked with ensuring I got him off his bus every day, helping him prepare his baths, his food, and keeping all his comfort items at hand.
