Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Every year my church puts on a vacation Bible school with around 500 kids attending. I have been a leader at this event for the past 7 years and have loved every second of it! At this event I take on a group of around 15 kindergarten-5th graders, a time where I care after these kids and fulfill their needs as a mentor over the week. This week over the past years has shaped me into a better babysitter because of the experience of getting to bond with these students from various areas, ages and backgrounds. I have learned how to better use skills to care for these kids which I have applied to various times of babysitting!!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
When babysitting children I enjoy hanging outside with them, whether that is going on a walk, bike ride, playing sports, swim, or just sitting out in the sun. I enjoy playing board games with the kids, cooking food for them, watching cartoons, and also just being able to hangout with them!
My experience with special needs children...
I have an autistic cousin who is 8 years old who I babysit when I am with family , I have been looking after him and watching him for about 4 years. I will cook for him, watch tv with him, play with him, take him to the store with me and talk with him!! Doing so has been a challenge but has helped me learn more about those with special needs and how to care for them.
