Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a child swim instructor at Sunsational Swim school. I taught young kids (1-year-old and up) basic water safety knowledge and swimming skills that would prevent drowning situations from occurring. The children and I had lots of Summer fun.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some indoor activities that I like doing with children are board games, science experiments, hide & seek, etc. Outdoor activities would be going to the park, going out for lunch, arts & crafts, swimming, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is understanding that the time and energy I spend with a child can be very impactful on their life and development. I try my best to make sure I am setting a loving, trusting, and positive foundation that the child may grow upon to become their best self.
My experience with special needs children...
I have had experience with children who are on the spectrum. I worked full-time with a non-verbal Autistic 8-year-old boy. I spoon fed him, bathed him, attended his therapy sessions, homework, and he was on a very steady schedule. I handled his extreme tantrums and triggers, I cared for him deeply.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I'll always remember the time I spent with a 6-year-old girl I used to be a nanny for. I loved her for being so curious, intelligent, and sweet. A funny moment we had together was during study time when she mispronounced a word in the book. It came out the wrong way but sounded so hilarious that we couldn't stop laughing. Her sense of humor and laughter is something I won't forget.
