Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy outside activities when the weather is nice, I think kids should enjoy the world around them, with kids at the clinic some activities I have enjoyed setting up are scavenger hunts, games of soccer, basketball, cornhole. Thinking of my little siblings I love traditional games such as red light, green light. Indoor activities I do enjoy learning games on ipads but I like to be more hands on especially with the younger ones so board games are always great, like connect four, Guess who, Headbandz (my fav lol), Trouble, Sorry. I’m even a sucker for card games we can play Go fish, or my most favorite UNO! Depending on the age, I can adapt the the activity, but I do like to be hands on and a fun person to be around so the child feels safe and has loads of fun!

I love these prompts because they are making me think back… one of my kids i cannot name because of Hippa..,, a lot of the girls at the clinic would gossip about how hard he was and was hoping not to get him… well i was the new girl around and i got this precious baby., at first it wasn’t a lot of work getting done and it was hard at first because he would get a little physical sometimes, i was patient and persistent, i knew his favorite game was mind craft so I set the timer ever 3 minutes at first we do work then 3 minutes we get mind craft (repeat) go up to 5 minutes then 7 then 10 then 20 before you know it, it was routine, and everyday his work was done ,he played his game and built his minecraft world, we had some fun, and he learned along the way. Moments like that are why teachers and caregivers are so important.
