Although I do not have professional paid nanny experience, I took care of both my younger sister and younger brother for 5-8 hours at a time throughout the week when they were born in 2018 and 2019. Over the years I have played with them, created fun activities for them, and would teach them both English and Spanish along with my parents. As my younger siblings have gotten older, now six and four, I help them with their homework and engage in crafts and other physical activities such as dance and soccer. During their school breaks, such as winter, spring break, and summer, I perform near full time work as I prepare healthy kid-friendly meals, nutritious snacks, tidy up around the house, and take them to the park or extracurricular activities such as my brothers soccer club and my sisters dance lessons.

Growing up with an older brother who is on the Autism Spectrum allowed me to better empathize and understand those who require special attention, quality care, support for learning, and help in developing social skills. In a single parent household, I was always in a position to nurture my brother and help him understand difficult concepts while doing his homework and served as a soothing presence in de-escalating situations whenever he had emotional outbursts.
