My name is Maria, I am 20 years old and am located in Kennebunk ME. I started babysitting when I was 13 as a mothers helper until I was 14 and gained those families as consistent families and started to actually babysit. When I turned 18 I started working in a childcare facility as an assistant floating teacher meaning I worked with all ages! I am CPR, and First Aid Certified as well! Fun fact about me is that in high school I went to vocational school and got my CNA and finished all my clinical hours in the nursing home. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Volunteered at Limerick Village Tumbler's from July of 2018 to November of 2021. Worked to teach kids proper tumbling skills and assist with spotting and knowing and understanding lesson plans in order to best tech kids.
Clinical Hours done at The Pinnacle in Sanford for my CNA from September of 2020 to June of 2021. There I learned how to efficiently and best take care of residents assisting with ADL's, eating, toileting, and other needs.
Buzzy Beez Childcare from March 2022 to November of 2022. Here I was a floater where I worked with all ages, assisting in dance, dramatic play, pretend play, reading, crafts, diaper changes, meal times, and assisting children to go down for naps.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Sensory bins, Dancing, cooking, and crafts these ones are all great indoor ones!

For the outdoors I typically enjoy searching for shells or rocks at the ocean, going for hikes, drawing with chalk, and going swimming at the lake!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The relationship and impact the nanny has on the kids and I think its really important you set a good example, and be yourself and have fun with that child! I love that fact that when your watching kids or playing with kids you can kind of let your inner child come out with them, while also helping them develop their social skills and improve in others aspects of their life!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Well Ive never nannied but I have babysat for sometime so I've definitely had my moments but the one that stuck out to me the most was when I was working at a daycare actually! I was having a rough day with this kiddo he was two and anything I did just wasn't working so I had to keep sitting him in the chair to take space with me. well nap time comes around and I'm rubbing his forehead to put him to sleep and he scoots closer to me and laid his head down on my lap. Thats when you know you can have rough days buts its so worth it! Let me tell you it definitely all pays off in the end!
