A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Maria! I am a 30 yr old graduate student at Tulane. I am studying public health and child development. I have over 8 years of babysitting/child care experience. I have taken care of infants from 1-month-old to early teens (13-15). My previous employment was at a special needs school; I was a long-term sub teacher. I was a one-on-one with a teenager with severe disabilities. I performed bathroom duties, food preparation, feeding, and teaching. That job changed my life, and I am now dedicating my life's work to serve and advocate for those with disabilities.

I love kids, I think they teach us a lot and remind us to stay young at heart! Even with the occasional "tantrum", I am very sympathetic because, hey, us adults have them too! ;-D
