More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

-Family Care: Babysitting my three cousins (ages 3–8) during weekends and holidays; planning recreational activities and reinforcing hygiene and eating habits.
-School Tutoring: Supporting and reinforcing language instruction for children ages 6–10, adapting explanations to their learning styles in Spanish tutoring.
-Crafts Classes at a Community Center: Leading groups of children ages 5–12, fostering creativity and socialization through painting, recycling, and puppetry projects.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Crafts and art: Painting, collage, and creative recycling workshops to stimulate the imagination.
Reading aloud: Storytelling and dramatization of stories to foster a love of reading and oral expression.
Outdoor games: Treasure hunts, sack races, and obstacle courses that promote exercise and teamwork.
Educational board games: Puzzles, memory, "Dominoes," and math games to reinforce cognitive skills in a fun way.
Music and dance: Children's song sessions, percussion with household objects, and simple choreography to develop coordination and body expression.
Relaxation time: Yoga for children, breathing exercises, and mindfulness games to help them manage their emotions.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are points worth highlighting in this regard, such as:
- Ensuring the children's safety and well-being at all times, creating an environment where they can explore safely.
- Making them feel understood and listened to, addressing their emotions and needs to foster their confidence.
- Promoting their autonomy, encouraging them to solve small challenges on their own (maintaining their hygiene, organizing their toys, choosing activities).
- Inspiring their curiosity and learning through play, transforming each activity into an educational opportunity.
- Maintaining fluid communication with parents, informing them of their progress, routines, and any incidents to foster peace of mind and collaboration.
- Watching them grow in self-esteem as they master new skills, knowing that I played a key role in their overall development.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel that when you work with children, you become part of their growth. Without a doubt, some of my favorites are seeing the smiles on their faces when they discover something new together, whether it's their first finished drawing, their reaction to a simple experiment, or the achievement of a small reading challenge. When we manage to create a bond of trust, and they spontaneously approach me to share their ideas, dreams, or even their "secret of the day."
We also share a moment of quiet play after snack time, painting or reading, and they discover that learning can also be a lot of fun. And of course, at the end of the day, they give me a goodbye hug and tell me how much they enjoyed our time: that confirms for me that I'm not only caring, but also contributing to their happiness and development.

Kara R. - Seeking Work in Hattiesburg

Part-Time Nanny Available in Hattiesburg, MS: Kara R.

As a college student, I’ve been intentional about gaining experience that reflects both my passions and my strengths. One of the most rewarding aspects of my journey so far has been working with children. Whether it’s through babysitting, tutoring, or volunteering, I’ve found that I naturally connect with young kids. I enjoy creating safe, fun, and engaging environments for them to grow and express themselves. These experiences have taught me how to be patient, attentive, and adaptable—skills that I know are essential in any caregiving or customer-oriented role.

Alongside my work with children, I’m also very comfortable around animals, especially cats. I understand how to read their behavior, approach them respectfully, and create calm, trusting interactions. This comfort with animals has helped me develop a calm presence and attention to detail that complements my work with people—particularly in environments that require multitasking and emotional intelligence.
