More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a daycare teacher for a year for 1 to 2 1/2 year olds. I have also babysat a special-needs boy for over a year now on weekends. I also babysit my sisters 13-year-old 12-year-old and 3 1/2-year-old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love taking the children to a park or just playing simple catch or throwing a ball outside I always try and include outdoor activities at least for an hour a day while watching them indoor activities I don’t really like them watching TV more than an hour a day so I normally play board games with them I play house with them if they are younger I do normal indoor games with the children depending on their age group

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most to me about being a nanny is that I get to watch a little short piece of the kids life growing up and then hopefully one day later on I get to see them all grown up and if I asked them what they remember about me I want them to be able to remember something that I teach them that is meaningful that they will take with them for the rest of their lives

My experience with special needs children...

The special-needs boy that I babysit on the weekends right now he is nine years old but his mental age capacity is that of an 18 month old so he can’t speak like you and me like normally so if he wants to drink or eat he does a little bit of sign language for me and I will make him his food and what he likes to drink I also have to change his pull-up whenever it needs changing and I also was a peer tutor in high school for a child that was in a wheelchair that cannot use his legs he was three years old and I basically took care of him for everything that he needed to do and I changed his pull up I fed him I bathe him I went outside and I played with him I carried him wherever he wanted to be carried and I also put him to bed at night time

The most important part about being a nanny...

My most memorable moment as a nanny would be when I was babysitting a five-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy and the family threw me a going away party and during that party the little boy and a little girl would not leave my side throughout the whole day and I took them to the park when it was all over as a last thing to do together with them and my favorite moment of the day was when me a little girl and a little boy all went out and we picked flowers and put them each in each others hair and a little boy and little girl turns to me and says Miss Marie I will remember you and all that you have done for us for the rest of my life
