More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was chosen as a peer mentor in high school and would go to elementary schools once a week and help a certain student who was struggling. I mentored 3 kids and was there for them to talk about problems they were not comfortable talking about with adults.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy going on walks, going to the park, baking, doing arts and crafts, and having a movie day!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I would say is to connect with the children and gain their trust. If the kids do not connect with you or trust you, it makes the job very difficult and not very fun for anyone. I always try to connect with the children, whether that be making them special treats, playing their favorite games, or even something as simple as listening to their day. Connection and trust are key for a healthy relationship between a nanny and their children.
My experience with special needs children...
Every summer I go visit family in New Mexico and help out my aunt and uncle who have a special needs son (my cousin) and help take care of him. I have had years of experience working with children who have a different perspective on life and understand the difficulties and challenges that may arise.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Last summer I started nannying for an awesome family and became very attached to their 5 month old. I was there M-F 50 hours a week and became very close to him. I was nannying for this family for about 8 months and saw the baby grow. My favorite moment was when he started walking. I was so happy and sad because he had become my mini me and I knew he wouldn't be small forever. It made me cherish every moment with him.
