Hi! My name is Marissa DePalma and I’m looking to care for children ages 1–12. I absolutely love being around kids and find it very fun and rewarding. I have 3 years of experience babysitting ages 2–10. I’m a third-year college student at James Madison University studying Architectural Design with a 3.5+ GPA. I’ll be living in Ocean City, MD this summer and would love to be a part-time nanny both to save for college and help out busy families! I also enjoy cleaning, so expect a tidied house upon returning unless told otherwise. I’m a careful driver with good social awareness to avoid any potential harm. I’d like to mention that I’m a fun and lively person who would create enjoyable, engaging activities for your child—whether it’s arts and crafts (which I absolutely love and would love to share with them) or outdoor games like running around and playing tag. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I had the pleasure of caring for a wonderful family with three children, two girls and one boy ages 2, 8, and 13. My time with them was incredibly meaningful, and I truly cherish the bond we built. Watching the youngest grow up was especially rewarding; I felt so proud to see her go off to preschool and thrive. I miss playing dolls with her, and I especially enjoyed helping all three siblings connect through fun, wholesome activities we could all enjoy together. Their family reminded me so much of my own and the close relationship I have with my two sisters. If I could do it all over again, I would in a heartbeat. It was an experience that left a lasting impact on me.

I also cared for a very energetic and playful pair, a 6-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy. They were super active, which kept me on my toes in the best way! We played endless rounds of tag and spent lots of time in the pool playing fun water games. I loved matching their energy and joining in on the excitement!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love getting creative and active with kids! Some of my favorite activities include arts and crafts (painting, drawing, making fun DIY projects), imaginative play (playing house, dolls, or dress-up), and outdoor games like tag, hide and seek, and sharks and minnows. I also really enjoy pool time and coming up with fun water games. Whether it's baking simple treats together, reading stories, or building pillow forts, I always aim to make our time together fun, safe, and memorable. I enjoy helping kids express themselves, stay active, and most of all have a great time just being kids!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is first recognizing the responsibility that comes with caring for someone’s children, it truly takes a village. Once you understand and respect that role, the next step is to embrace your inner child and connect with the kids through joy, creativity, and play. When you're having just as much fun as they are, it creates a special bond and makes every day feel meaningful, for them and for you.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny memories was on a perfect summer day after a long afternoon of fun. I had just gotten the kids all fed, and we had spent hours running around, playing games, and laughing non-stop. Everyone was giggly and absolutely exhausted in the best way. As we waited for their parents to return, all three kids ended up falling asleep together on the couch. The youngest had the cutest little smile on her face, and in that quiet moment, I felt so fulfilled and happy. It meant the world to me that I could give them such a fun, joy-filled day.
